The first months

There it is! This changed it all! I woke up early on a Monday morning late October and was thinking it could be.  I remember that second pink line popped up instantly and I was just so excited!! I couldn't believe it was finally there! Oh my gosh!! I went to wake up Jeromy and just had the biggest smile on my face, he knew something was up.  I told him, he was really surprised, we couldn't believe it, we prayed together and then decided to keep it to ourselves for awhile.  If you know me AT ALL, you know I'm not good at holding things in! But it was really important to me that we just enjoy the news on our own for a little while.  You never know what can happen in those first few weeks and we just wanted to be sure.

4 weeks.  That's how long we kept it a secret! FOUR WEEKS! That's a long time for me.  There were so many times I wanted to tell someone but knew I'd regret it if we didn't tell our parents first.  We had our first ultrasound the day after Thanksgiving and had planned on telling our parents after that.  We went to our appointment and were so ready to see the ultrasound.  We waited for the doctor for what felt like forever and it was finally time.  Jeromy got to see it before I did but the doctor turned the monitor around and I got to see it.  I was smiling and giggling and a tear came down the side of my face.  It was beautiful and amzing.  That was an awesome experience with my favorite person.

My mom was supposed to work that day but had told me weeks before that she might get called off from the hospital.  I prayed and prayed for weeks that she wouldn't have to go in to work so we could meet them right after the appointment.  It worked! God answered my prayer and she didn't have to work!  My mom had to work on Thanksgiving so I just told her we wanted to get together for lunch since we didn't get to see her the day before.  We met them at Luby's and knew we had to tell them in the parking lot because I knew my dad would make a scene. I was right! We told them we were sorry for being a little late because we had a doctor's appointment.  They looked confused and asked "what kind of doctor?" and I said "the obstetrican!" I pulled out the ultrasound pic and showed it to them.  My dad let out this loud yell and threw his hand in the air! My mom hugged me and had a huge smile. They were so excited and I was just thrilled to tell someone!

After that, we went straight to Vicki and Terry's house to tell them.  We didn't wait long because we were too excited.  The day before, on Thanksgiving, Jeromy had prayed to bless our food and had thanked God for the new additions this year to our families.  He was referring to our cousin Melissa's fiance, Jake and our newest niece, Darcy but also I knew secretly he was talking about the baby :)  SO when he told his parents, he asked them if they remember when he was praying about "new additions" and said he was talking about Jake and Darcy but also the new baby we had on the way! Vicki screamed and jumped up off the couch!  She hugged us and looked like she wanted to cry happy tears!  They were both excited and can't wait for grandbaby #6!

That was a long four weeks for sure but it was worth it so we could show them the ultrasound picture.  We told our grandmothers and siblings that weekend as well and slowly our closest friends and family.  I had thought for awhile how cool it would be to reveal our pregnancy in a Christmas card and the timing worked out perfectly!  The timing on it all wasn't mine but God knows what He is doing! So thankful and all glory to Him!

13 weeks

Jeromy and I went on a little trip for a couple of days so I'm a day late on my 13 week post.

how far along? 13 weeks (+1 day)
how are you measuring? 13 weeks
size of baby? about 3 inches, the size of a medium shrimp, 1 ounce
heartbeat? 157 bpm (at my 11 week appt.)
total weight gain/loss? ?? didn't get to weigh this week. Hopefully not much with Christmas!
maternity clothes? I got my first pair of maternity jeans for Christmas! But don't need to wear them yet.
sleep? I haven't been as tired this week but I also didn't work so that probably made a difference. Sleeping good at night, still getting up but not every night.
best moment this week? Spending time with my husband just us on a little getaway!
movement? Haven't felt anything this week.
food cravings? I haven't been going crazy over anything but I did see someone eat a grilled cheese sandwich and then couldn't stop thinking about it so I finally got one a few days later. It was so good!
gender predictions? I have no idea! I know what I'm hoping for but don't have any hunches. We'll find out in 8 weeks!
what i miss: I don't really miss anything but it would be nice to not get winded from just walking. We walked around the river walk in San Antonio that past couple of days and it was so tiring!
what i'm looking forward to: I'm looking forward to feeling movement, it still doesn't seem real!
how are you feeling? I'm feeling really great! It's been probably about 3 weeks since I've felt any nausea. So blessed to not have had any morning sickness! Starting to exercise again so I'm feeling good about that!

Merry Christmas!

This is a little late but just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas from our little family to yours! We had a great day with family out at Jeromy's Uncle Benny's land in Montgomery.

One thing that really surpised me was all the gifts Baby Moore got! I did not even expect that at all and it was so sweet of our family to get gifts for him/her!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well!

12 weeks

I saw this "Baby Bump Series" on another blog that I follow.  I've mentioned her blog before because she always has such great ideas, she's very creative. You can find her here.

I would have started this earlier for myself but just didn't think about it.  I've just been trying to wait until 12 weeks for everything to come out so I'll start now.  I still plan to go back and blog about what happened in the earlier weeks.  I mainly want to do this each week just so I can remember everything!

*You can already see a little bump!

how far along? 12 weeks
how are you measuring? 12 weeks
size of baby? about 2 inches, the size of a lime and a half an ounce
heartbeat? 157 bpm (at my 11 week appt.)
total weight gain/loss? +2 pounds. I've gone up and back down the past two months, I'm just glad it's not too much yet! I will be working really hard to stay on top of this.
maternity clothes? I can still wear my normal clothes, but pants are getting a little hard to button.
sleep? I want to sleep all the time! I have to get up at least once a night to go to the bathroom and sometimes have a hard time falling back to sleep for awhile. But I sleep very well when I am actually asleep.
best moment this week? Hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time! Didn't even know I was going to hear it at my appointment. Unfortunately, Jeromy had to work so he didn't get to hear it. Another great moment was when we finally announced our pregnancy to the world! If you know me, I don't hold secrets in well so it was hard holding this in for so long!
movement? All the pregnancy apps that I am reading say its too early to feel anything but I KNOW I felt a flutter last week. I thought it was my cell phone vibrating in my back pocket but it wasn't. It stopped and I looked down and then it happened again and I was like “whoa! What was that?!” it was amazing!
food cravings/aversions? No cravings right now. I have had an aversion to sweets this whole time though which is so weird because I have a huge sweet tooth, it's gone. The only dessert that sounds any good is some plain ice cream.
gender predictions? I don't know!! We'll find out in 9 weeks!
what i miss: I miss having the energy to do anything. Housework hasn't been getting done a whole lot. I'm just so tired all the time and feel like it's silly for me to be so tired. I just have to keep reminding myself that God is growing a human inside of my body which is tiring work!
what i'm looking forward to: I'm looking forward to Christmas! It will be our last Christmas as a small family of 2.
how are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good! Haven't had ANY morning sickness, praise the Lord! I have had some nausea but other than that I feel great.

We're pregnant!

You found us! Thank you so much for joining us as we start/continue this journey! If you found yourself here on our blog, then you saw our Christmas card :) This is such an exciting time of the year and even more so as we navigate our way through our first pregnancy. I have always been interested in blogging.  I love how you can look back on all your fun times but just never found the motivation to continue with it.  I certainly want to be able to look back on this time in our lives! A lot has happened since I last blogged over a year ago! I've gotten much healthier and hope to continue in good health.  I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and have lots of catching up to do on what has happened so far.  The next week or so I'll be writing blogs about what has happened up to this point so I can remember the first two months of this journey as well. Thank you so much for all the well wishes and congratulations, we are thrilled! More to come!
