Target Deals

Today was my first day in 21 years not to go back to school....it was very strange.  Today feels like the start of a new "year" but now I'm like the rest of the world and that doesn't really apply.  I didn't have to work today so I just felt weird not really having a lot to do.  I did have plans to have lunch with an old friend and I did my weekly Target shopping.  It was just an odd day and an odd feeling today.  I sure did miss my Hancock friends and was praying for them today.  Looks like everyone had a great first day of school so I'm glad :)

I went to Target today armed with my coupons again.  I didn't get as much but still saved over 50% which ROCKS! I got a few things super cheap and some even free.  Here's my goodies from today:

I got two of these little first aid kits, one to go in each of our cars.  They were normally $1.09 each which is pretty cheap but after coupons, I got them for $.34 each! Yay!

I don't know why these are sideways but they were FREE! They were only $.97 and then I had a $1 off coupon for each so I actually made $.09 on them...you can't pass up free!

I wanted to add another picture of Clorox wipes that I got but it's upside down. I got a three pack of wipes for $1.05 each.  I love playing the grocery game! Stay tuned to see what I get next week!

ErinCondren.com

I've recently been introduced to a super cute website Erin Condren.com I found this website in a blog I've been reading a while, a girl I had a few classes with in college.  She has the cutest blog and such great ideas. Anyways, she recently blogged about the awesome Erin Condren life planner that is just out this summer.  These organizers are so cute because you can personalize them with your name and have the prettiest patterns and colors.  It's so funny how guys and gals are so different cuz guys wouldn't care about this at all but I saw it and immediately thought it was so cute and wanted one.  I showed it to Jeromy and asked him if I could have one for my birthday....which isn't for another three months, LOL. However, Katy is doing a back to school giveaway where she is going to give someone $50 in Erin Condren e-cards, which would pay for this awesome planner! So this is one of my ways to win by blogging about it! I sure I she picks me!!
This is the one I would get!!! It would say tristan & jeromy moore 2012....I like it in the multicolor. Hope you like it too!!!

Stealing is good!

I feel like I've stolen from Target today! Haha! I found this website Totally Target, it gives you all the best deals going on at Target right now. They match up the sale prices with coupons from the newspaper and Target online. I didn't even know Target HAD coupons that you could print from their website! The totally target website also shows you what has been reduced in price recently and which coupons to use to get the best price possible. I got home from work and spent maybe an hour looking at the sales and sorting through my coupons. They were already cut. I ended up saving $46 so I basically made $46/hr on looking through coupons. Like I said....I just found this website TODAY and went to buy all this stuff after looking through the blog and coupons for maybe an hour. This is what I got:

The original total was $91.48 before all the coupons. I used 21 coupons from Target's website and the newspaper. After 21 coupons, my total went down to $45.63! I saved $45.85 in coupons!! It was really strange, it felt like an adrenaline rush when the lady rang up the items and then I watched as the price was cut in half! I was so excited when I was cutting out my coupons. I think this is the best deal I got...

I found this deal in a blog on the Totally Target site. These four scrubbing bubbles items were originally $16.96. I had three coupons, two of which were buy one item get one free. So after 3 coupons, I paid $5.98 for all of this!! Here's a break down of how I did that:
Buy 2 Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel ($3.49 each) and also buy 1 Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush Starter Kit ($6.49) & 1 Fresh Brush Refill ($3.49) =$16.96
- $1 coupon (from Target website) when you buy 2 Toilet Cleaning Gels

- $6.49, use B1G1: FREE SB Fresh Brush Product When you buy Toilet Cleaning Gel (newspaper coupon)

- $3.49, use B1G1: FREE SB Fresh Brush Product when you buy Toiley Cleaning Gel (newspaper coupon)

= $5.98 for all 4 products after coupons or $1.49 each

So I've learned that the trick to using all these coupons is that you have to get multiple newspapers in order for this work. You need about 2 or 3 of the same coupon sometimes. The great thing about Target is that they will let you use a Target coupon and a manufacturer's coupon from the paper on the same item. I actually used 2 manufacturer coupons on the Kleenex and they took it, so I had three coupons for one product. I've been buying the Sunday paper and then my parents have been nice enough to give me the coupons from their paper as well. I'm really enjoying saving all this money. It's not gonna make up for the income difference between this year and last year but every little bit helps! And it's so much fun seeing the total go down!!

Stay at home...wife?

The Lord has blessed me this year and allowed me to try something different. Teaching was an experience I needed and it definitely has room in my heart.....in the future! It started last year when Jeromy and I took Financial Peace University (FPU) at church. Great class to take! Especially when first married. That's where we met Kim and Chad. We didn't really get to know each other that well during the class but we thought they were very nice.

When New Years rolled around and it was time to make those resolutions, I often make one to be healthier. Not lose weight. But just get into better habits. I am actually proud to say that I stuck to that this year! Kim was going to a boot camp at church and I thought maybe I'd try it especially since there was someone I knew, kinda. I started boot camp at the Met on January 5, 2011. To this day still can't believe I did it for 5 months! That was amazing group of women ready to be there for you when you need accountability! But getting up at 4:30 on MWF and then working at school all day made for a sleepy Tristan. I felt so accomplished every time I went. I would HATE waking up that early but knew I'd be feeling so good by 6am. Anyways.....Kim and I got to be better friends and walking buddies. One morning I asked her if she had employees at her resale store...Retail Therapy. She said yes and I told her that I might be interested in working a summer job. Summer job turned into JOB. I'm loving it and am so blessed by the friendship I have with Kim. We are constantly laughing and making jokes with each other. And her daughter Megan is such a cutie and a cuddle bug. It's such a blessing to be able to listen to KSBJ all day long and have such variety at the store. There are times when I get to be social with customers and then there are times when I get to worship God through song by myself with no one around. I LOVE IT!

So I'm sort of feeling like a stay at home wife even though I do work 3-4 days a week, the hours are totally different than teaching. I don't go to work until 10 so I have the entire morning to get so much done. I've fallen into a nice schedule in the mornings. I wake up at 7 almost every day (when I stopped teaching I thought, Oh it will be so nice to sleep in every day! But I'm not drained all the time so I actually feel rested getting up at 7, its nice!) I actually get to have as much time in the morning for bible study and prayer and reading! It's great! I've been doing a great study by Kelly Minter this summer called No Other Gods (NOGS). I've also been reading lots of books which I have never been a big reader but can't seem to get enough reading lately. One of my favorites was Heaven is for Real, great book. So I read and eat breakfast and some days go to the gym. I'm at the YMCA now and going to lots of classes. I am more motivated by classes with other people keeping me accountable like boot camp. I love step and zumba! I've been mostly going to step lately in the mornings if I have to work. But now that school is about to start again, I need something more to do. I am going to start a new cleaning schedule. Ok ...let's rephrase, I'm going to START a cleaning schedule, not a new one, lol. I stole this from a friend's blog. She found a Home Organization Plan online, it's actually for moms but hey, I can do it too!

Here's the Home Organization Plan. There are daily duties (things that can be done everyday quickly), weekly duties (vacuuming, laundry, etc.), monthly chores(things that only need to be done once or twice a month), and then a decluttering project each month. If you click on the link to each month, it will show you everything all on one page. There is NO reason why my house can't stay clean now. I started it this morning. Wednesday's chores are laundry, cleaning windows, and wiping down door knobs and light switches. Today's monthly task is to clean out your car which I did last week so I can already check that off the list! I've already done some laundry too. But now I have to get ready for work....

I will be blogging a lot more now!
